Should a bat be deemed by the UIC to be illegal (i.e. tampered with) under OBR 6.03 (5), then OBR 6.03 (5) shall be applied. Should a non-compliant bat (i.e. not listed in the table in 14.09) be used during the course of a game and identified before the next batter receives a pitch, the offending batter is given out, and the runners are reset prior to the at bat. At any point a non-compliant bat is identified a warning will be issued to the offending team, that the bat must be removed from the game. Should the non-compliant bat be subsequently used in the game; the offending batter will be ejected from the game. Some of the bats being used even pre-dated the outlawed BESR standard.

Whilst some bats are brand new, bought from Asia but fail to be compliant with correct permitted standards of Baseball Australia and BNSW.
